Introduction (GTA III)

De introductie van GTA III bestaat uit twee delen. Eerst zien we hoe Catalina haar partner verraadt tijdens een bankoverval.
Miguel komt aanrijden met een Banshee als vluchtwagen voor Catalina en Claude, en remt voor de Liberty City Bank. Catalina komt met de buit naar buiten rennen, gevolgd door Claude. Om de hoek wacht Catalina hem op met geheven pistool.
Catalina: "Sorry babe, I'm an ambitious girl and you," Ze schiet Claude neer, "you're just small-time."
Het beeld wordt zwart, we horen Claude's zware ademhaling, en de voorpagina van de Liberty Tree leert ons dat Claude gearresteerd is, en een celstraf van tien jaar krijgt.
Vervolgens zien we hoe Claude weet te ontsnappen, dankzij een aanval op het politiekonvooi van het Colombian Cartel.
Nieuwslezeres: "Liberty City is in shock today, as the police and emergency services deal with the emotional aftermath of a devestating attack on a police convoy early this morning. As yet no details have been released about the prisoners being transfered in the convoy, and no group has claimed responsibility. The convoy left police headquarters early this morning, for a routine transfer of villains to Liberty City Penitentairy. The attack took place on the Callahan Bridge, leaving few witnesses, and the bridge itself severely damaged. Some of the convicts are thought to have perished in the the explosion that followed the initial attack. Revelations of the professiolism of the attack struck the police with hours afterwork, when identification of the missing villains were furder hampered by an attack by computer hackers on police headquarter databases. With the Porter Tunnel Project already falling behind schedule, this disaster leaves Portland isolated from the rest of the city."
Wanneer het konvooi de Callahan Bridge oprijdt richting Portland, zet een Patriot de achtervolging in. Er wordt een bom op het brugdek gegooid, en de Patriot rijdt de politiewagen klem. Enkele leden van het Colombian Cartel nemen de agenten onder schot en ontvoeren een van de gevangenen, een oudere Oosterse man.
Colombian Cartel: "Come on! Señor dickhead! It's no problem to kill you!"
Agent: "You gonna be sorry!"
Colombian Cartel: "Ai, ai, get lost!"
Het Colombian Cartel vlucht met de ontvoerde Oosterling, en laat de agenten en de overige gevangen achter. Claude en 8 Ball zien hun kans schoon. Claude schopt een agent onderuit en opent zijn en 8 Ball's handboeien met de sleutel. Op dat moment explodeert de bom, en verwoest de brug.
